PERFORMERS
How much experience do your entertainers have?
We take every gig very seriously and only feature and work with the best performers across the region and abroad to provide the very best experiences for our clients. All of our performers have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry. All Soiree Cabaret Entertainers are individually selected based on their ability to provide quality entertainment to a wide range of age groups, perform in multiple genres and read a crowd.
When do performers arrive for my event?
Bump in for a standard booking is 1 hour prior to their set commencing. Some of our performers may require longer to set up. If you are providing the AV, or it’s already at your venue, arrival and sound check time may be 30 minutes prior. Bump out is immediately after the performers set finishes. If you require an earlier set up time, or a later bump out time, additional fees will apply. We liaise directly with your venue to organise all the bump in / out logistics.
Can the performer MC my event?
Some can, some can’t! Some of our performers are confident with public speaking and MC duties. Others would prefer to concentrate on what they are best at doing – performing their act or routines. For those that are, we can offer this service for an additional fee. If you require more than just general announcements, we can recommend some great professional MC’s and Hosts/Hostess for your event.
How long will the entertainer perform for?
In most cases, events are over a 4-5 hour duration. Generally, most of our live singers, bands and acoustic ensembles will play 3 x 45 minute sets during their call time. Most of our live singers, bands and acoustic ensembles are happy to break up their sets to fit with your running order (i.e. 4 x 35-minute sets or sets varying in length). While the live singer, band or acoustic ensemble is not performing live, they can play music from a pre-programmed playlist that they can provide on request. Some of our other performers will attend your event for a specifically set and pre-arranged 'call-time' and perform their acts or routines as booked in your arrangement (i.e. You booked a pole dancer or burlesque performer to perform 4 routines so they may perform 1 x 5-minute routine, every 30-minutes with break between each performance). Call-times are non-negotiable once arranged and if additional attendance time is required for any reason, an additional fee will apply for extended attendance time, this cannot always be arranged subject to availability.
Do I need to provide meals and beverages to performers?
Performers booked for more than 1 hour, require hot meals and refreshments which are to be provided at your cost. Most venues will provide a staff discounted meal for crew members. For performance times less than 1 hour, water is required only. As a rule of thumb, fed and looked after performers will perform best!
What is an equipment rider?
If you are providing AV at your event (or have a professional AV company doing so), we will send you a list of equipment specs that our performers require. We are happy to liaise directly with your venue or AV company to manage this for you and assist you in ensuring that your equipment is suitable for the performers.
Will the performer perform my song requests?
It is always best to try to select songs from the performers current song list. If the song you want is not on the list and if it is in the same genre as the performer already performs, then we request this of the performer. Usually the performer will advise us whether this is possible. Some performers will charge a fee to learn a special song as there is practice and rehearsals involved to get it just right! If the performer is unable to learn the song, we highly suggest playing the original version of your special song (through the performer or your sound system) and then have the performer perform straight after the song. This option works well. Some of our performers are unable to accommodate song requests subject to their style of performance (i.e. burlesque, pole dance, aerialist) due to timing and staging of their routines and acts.
EVENT LOCATIONS
Do your performers travel outside of the Southern Highlands?
Absolutely! We are based in the Southern Highlands and this is where we party most often as well produce our cabaret production shows, but we have performers on our roster across Australia. For events outside of the Southern Highlands, we charge a per km rate if the event location is further than 20km from the Southern Highlands region. Rates are calculated from Bowral CBD - event - return. Accommodation may be required if the venue is more than 1 hour from Southern Highlands. If you can provide appropriate accommodation that’s great, otherwise we will charge a nominal fee to cover each performer. For interstate events, we will charge accommodation, travel CBD - event - return (i.e. flights, fuel allowance) and meal allowance for each performer associated with your event booking and assignment.
PROCESS
What is the payment process for booking Performers?
Once you choose to work with us, you will sign an entertainment booking agreement and make a 50% deposit required to formally secure your performer/s, with the remaining balance due 14 days prior to your event. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee availability of performers until you pay a deposit and sign the entertainment booking agreement. You can pay by direct bank transfer on invoice.
Cancellations - what happens if I cancel my booking?
All cancellations will result in the forfeiture of the 50% deposit. Any cancellation within 30 days of the event date as per the signed entertainment booking agreement, will incur the 100% fee.
What happens if the performer is ill and cannot attend my event?
Our performers are exceptionally reliable, but on the rare chance your booked entertainer can't attend, we’ll step in immediately to arrange a replacement who matches their talent and style. Every performer on our team knows to inform us at the first sign of illness, so we can prepare a seamless backup plan.
Booking with Soiree Cabaret means you benefit from our extensive roster of skilled performers, ensuring we can tackle any issue before it even arises. If, for any reason, a performer is unable to perform on the day, we’ll either provide a perfect replacement or offer a full refund. Rest assured—we’ve got you covered!
Who do I call on the day/night of my event if I have questions?
You will be provided with a direct number you can call on the day/night of your event which will be available to you from 12:01am to 11:59pm of the day of your event for any support or addressing any issues that may arise that you need our assistance to resolve. Rest assured, we are here for you every step of the way to ensure you have a seamless entertainment experience and an enjoyable event with our team.
Are your performers insured?
Yes - all of our performers are required to carry their own $20 million public liability insurance, so everything is covered during their attendance at your event for your peace of mind and the performers safety.
Do you provide the sound, lighting and staging equipment?
Some of our performers provide sound, lighting, and staging equipment in their rates, but not all performers do. Your invoice will list any specific "RIDER" and "PRODUCTION" requirements for each performer’s acts.
If equipment is needed, we’ll discuss this with you before you book. You can either arrange it through us to ensure all requirements are met, or you can handle it on your own. However, please note that if RIDER and PRODUCTION requirements aren’t met, the performer is not obligated to perform at your event.
PRICING
I've got other quotes from others they are lower than yours. Why?

Will you price match?
Many of our performers work for multiple agencies to maximise the amount of work they pick up. What we guarantee is to beat any competitor agency’s written quote by 10% for the exact same performer, band or DJ for the same enquiry (venue, date, etc). At Soiree Cabaret we fully support performer opportunities and development, whether it be under our banner or someone else's.
If you have a written quote for the same performer, we will beat it by 10%, on the condition that:
- The performers(s) are available
- The performers() can be released (if on hold with another agency)
We want to work with happy clients who have access to the best performers at the most competitive price.
What should I spend on entertainment?
Ask yourself the following:
-
What is most important to you at your event?
-
What do you remember about a sensational night out?
-
What will your guests remember?
-
What do you want them to remember?
At a wedding for example, think of what you spend on other elements – flowers, food, bridal cars etc.
We want to help you make the entertainment a highlight of your wedding and have your guests walking away with sore feet talking about how much fun they had!
